Boats & Bluffs La Crosse Boat Tour

Event Date: Wednesday, October 15, 2014
Event Category / Group: West Allis Calendar / West Allis

We will depart early and enjoy the scenery as we make our way to LaCrosse, a rest stop will be made en route. Upon arrival in LaCrosse, we will board the La Crosse Queen paddle wheeler for a scenic luncheon cruise on the upper Mississippi River! As the “La Crosse Queen” paddles upstream on the main channel of the river, your guide will explain facts and trivia of the historical and present day river, along with local points of interest. Watch for eagles and other wildlife as we cruise past steep bluffs adjacent to the “Great River Road” – designated by AAA as one of the most scenic areas in the Midwest! Lunch is included on the La Crosse Queen (Chef Carved Turkey & Swedish Meatballs). To complete a most pleasant day in La Crosse, a local guide will join us for a sightseeing tour of this “River Town”. Sit back and relax as your guide introduces you to the homes of lumber barons, early entrepreneurs and more! We’ll make a stop atop Granddad Bluff and we will cross the river for a visit to Southwind Orchards for shopping and sampling. Southwind apples are grown on the choice hillsides of a broad, deep valley near the town of Dakota, which nestles on the banks of the Mississippi River. After a pleasant day in LaCrosse, we’ll return to home. A rest stop will be made enroute.
