Swim Lessons

Dive into our comprehensive swim lesson programming designed for all ages and skill levels! Whether you’re a beginner dipping your toes for the first time or an experienced swimmer looking to refine your technique, our classes cater to everyone.

Youth Swim Lessons

Our engaging swim classes provide kids a safe and supportive environment where they can learn fundamental swimming skills while building confidence in the water. Our experienced instructors use fun activities and progressive teaching methods to ensure that each child develops essential water safety skills and strokes at their own pace.

Swim Lessons are available to members and non-members. 7-week sessions are offered every two months. Pre-registration and payment are required to complete enrollment. Sign up on the WAC+ app.

Class Levels

Parent/Tot
Parent and toddler swimming

Parent/Tot | Ages 0-3

Bond with your little one in our parent-and-tot classes, specially designed to introduce infants and toddlers to the joys of swimming through interactive games, songs, and supported movements. These classes foster a nurturing bond between parent and child while laying the foundation for future swimming proficiency. Parents must accompany their child in the water.

Preschool
Preschool Swim Lessons

Preschool | Ages 2-5

Explore safe and fun-filled preschool swim lessons. A step up from Parent/Tot, Preschool classes emphasize water safety and basic swimming skills through engaging activities led by experienced instructors. Children will be introduced to beginner swim techniques (floating, kicking, arm actions, opening eyes underwater). Parents are not required to accompany children in most locations. *WAC Greenfield only: due to pool configuration, we ask an adult accompany their child in the water.
Max: 4-5 participants.

Preschool+
Preschool Plus Swim Lesson

Preschool+ | Ages 3-6

Get your preschooler ready for the next level with our Preschool+ classes! These sessions provide a bridge between introductory swim lessons and Level 1 classes. Children focus on refining basic swimming skills and building confidence in preparation for more advanced techniques. Parents are not required to accompany children.
Max: 4-5 participants.

Level 1
Child Swim Lessons

Level 1: Water Exploration | Ages 4 and up

Learn the basics of swimming in Level 1. Perfect for beginners, this class focuses on water acclimation and introduces foundational skills such as face submersion, unsupported floating, kicking, and safety in a supportive environment. Children must meet specific exit skills before moving on to Level 2.
Max: 4-6 participants.

Level 2
Kids Swim Lessons

Level 2: Primary Skills | Ages 5 and up

Children will gain increased independence in the water as they build upon basic skills, learning rhythmic breathing, back crawl, and how to turn over. Children must meet specific exit skills before moving on to Level 3.

Class requirement: must have passed Level 1 or have been evaluated by a swim instructor. Max: 4-6 participants.

Level 3
Kids Swim Underwater

Level 3: Stroke Readiness | Ages 5 and up

Children will improve front crawl, elementary backstroke, treading water, and learn breaststroke. Children must meet specific exit skills before moving on to Level 4.
Class requirement: must have passed Level 2 or have been evaluated by a swim instructor. Max: 6-8 participants.

Lavel 4
Youth Swim Lessons

Level 4: Stroke Development | Ages 5 and up

Ready to tackle more advanced strokes? Level 4 prepares swimmers for greater independence in the water by honing stroke mechanics, introducing butterfly, sidestroke, and wall turns, all while reinforcing water safety practices to ensure readiness for deeper waters. Children must meet specific exit skills before moving on to Swim Club.
Class requirement: must have passed Level 3 or have been evaluated by a swim instructor. Max: 6-8 participants.

Swim Club

Our WAC Swim Club is for proficient swimmers looking to improve their endurance and stroke development. In this non-competitive environment, children will focus on perfecting techniques in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly through a variety of drills. Class may take place in the lap pool.
Class requirement: must have passed Level 4 or have been evaluated by a swim instructor.

Private & Semi-Private Swim Lessons

Get personalized aquatic instruction with our Private Swim Lessons tailored for both kids and adults of all levels. Whether you’re a beginner needing individual attention or an experienced swimmer seeking specific skill refinement, our instructors provide one-on-one guidance to meet your unique needs and goals. With flexible scheduling and focused attention, you’ll progress at your own pace in a comfortable and supportive environment. Private and Semi-Private Lessons are 30, 45, or 60 minutes in length and can be scheduled at your convenience.

If you’re an adult looking to learn how to swim, private swim lessons are for you. We welcome beginners, veterans, and even those afraid of the water. Learn the basics, refine your stroke, or build endurance in the water.

Small group swim lesson

Semi-Private Swim Lessons

We also offer Semi-Private Lessons for groups of 2-3 participants. Whether you are siblings, friends, or family members, our semi-private lessons provide personalized attention and tailored instruction to meet the needs and goals of the group…at an affordable cost.
